Educational Programs:

The after school tutorial programs are designed to target all children in the program through assistance in reading, mathematics, computer and social skills. Operated from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM during the school year, parents are offered a substantially lower financial burden for after school care through PAL.

The summer program combines; arts and crafts, educational series, health guidance, organized sports and field trips in a ten to twelve week program. Parents have the opportunity from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM to give their children one of the more exciting experiences of any summer camp. Activities range from weekly field trips to area exhibits to demonstrations of various police and community groups on site. Children skate, bowl and swim every week for a fraction of what parents pay elsewhere.

These programs are administered by full time police officers assigned to two Tampa PAL locations and are available to children ages 6 to 18.

Sports Programs:

PAL sports programs operate year round in conjunction with the public school's activities calendar. Sports organizations are supervised by Athletic Directors who are police officers and staffed by volunteers who undergo background screening and training in youth sports management.

Choice:

An alternative to suspension, the Choice program is operated in cooperation with the Hillsborough County School Board. Students who might otherwise have no choice to suspension are schooled in classroom space at PAL by a teachers supplied by the school system. A full time police officer is assigned to the program to ensure the safety fo those children participating. Students who complete the curriculum at Choice are not penalized for non-attendance.

LEAP (Law Enforcement Aftercare Program)

Juvenile offenders are supervised by police officers after completing boot camp programs. The officers provide continued guidance and discipline in an effort to help those young people who have strayed successfully assimilate into society.
